Get Ready, Get Set, Make Breakfast!

Yes, I know that today is Friday, but today is the perfect day to plan for next week's breakfast!  Oatmeal is super easy, so I have five simple ways to ensure that your little one has a yummy, nourishing, start to each day next week.

Saturday or Sunday: Shop for the items below, and prepare according to the instructions below.

Shopping List:
Oatmeal (I prefer steel cut, but regular rolled oats are perfect.  Add ground ginger and cinnamon while cooking for added flavor)
2 Pieces of fruit
Plain Yoghurt( cow's milk, goat's milk, soy, almond, coconut, etc.,)

Preparation:
Prepare 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups of raw oats in water.  Store the cooked oats in a  container and refrigerator.

While the oats are cooking, dice the two fruits.  You may combine the fruits or keep them separate.  Using a small sauce pan or skillet, cook the fruits separately in a small amount of water.  You want to cook the fruits until they are soft. Store the cooked fruits in a container in the refrigerator.

Monday Morning:
Place a tablespoon of yoghurt into a small dish, top with two tablespoons of oats, the place a table spoon of fruit on top of the oats.  Serve for breakfast.

Tuesday Morning:
Place tablespoons of oats and two tablespoons of fruit into a small dish and serve for breakfast.

Wednesday Morning:
Place tablespoons of oats and two tablespoons of yoguhrt into a small dish and serve for breakfast.

Thursday Morning:
Place tablespoons of yoghurt and two tablespoons of fruit into a small dish and serve for breakfast.

Friday Morning:
Place a tablespoon of yoghurt into a small dish, top with two tablespoons of oats, the place a table spoon of fruit on top of the oats.  Serve for breakfast.

The oatmeal can be served either cold or warm!

Wasn't that easy!!!

I will be trying this in the coming week. We haven't been consistent about breakfast because of being short on time in the morning, so this will help. Thanks, Pia!
